There’s a very good reason we are the leading substance abuse agency in the greater San Francisco Bay Area… it’s our people.

Our People

Our success begins with our people. Our people are unique and talented, culturally competent professionals who are committed to the continued success of our programs and services. In appreciation of these efforts, we strive to provide a flexible, friendly and highly interactive work environment that encourages employees to enjoy balanced lives.

We encourage employees to maintain good health and we support you by providing excellent health insurance programs. We also promote career development by offering unsurpassed training and development, both in-house and through higher education, seminars, conferences, and more.

As a multi-ethnic organization, we champion diversity in our work place — in thought, approach, innovation and creativity. Supporting such diversity allows our employees opportunity for both professional and personal growth, and helps us maintain our outstanding levels of service. Our diversity creates an organization rich with people from different backgrounds and cultures, and with a wide range of experiences, lifestyles, perspectives and skills.

One of our basic organizational values is trust and respect for individuals. Every day, at all levels of our organization, we strive to create an environment where each individual is included and valued. This environment enables all of our people to develop and contribute to their full potential.

Our Place

Throughout our organization, we share a singular focus – to be the leading provider of substance abuse programs and services to Asians and Pacific Islanders throughout the greater San Francisco Bay Area. We offer our people the opportunity to work with the most advanced practices that enable us to maintain our outstanding, and proven programs and services. Our education, prevention, intervention, treatment and research programs are enabling the next generation of services that will change the course of people’s lives. We recognize that our people enable our agency to succeed. So, we take steps to support our people with a great workplace environment and an encouraging work/play philosophy. To support our service goals with our clients, we cultivate a dynamic, high-paced work environment that encourages creative thought and innovation. We pride ourselves on our highly flexible atmosphere because it encourages people to think outside-the-box and develop programs and services that are truly unique and successful.

Our Philosophy

A balanced life is a healthy, fulfilling life that includes family, friends, fun, success and opportunity. We encourage our people to balance their lives, because our success depends on our people’s success. We offer a diverse number of social/recreation events throughout the year that include camping, skiing, sports events, amusement parks and other activities.

We recognize the importance of communication and interaction as keys to our success. We believe in keeping all of our people well-informed of our direction, our success, and our opportunities. To help communicate these, our Executive Director holds quarterly management and all-agency meetings where you have direct access to voice your opinions and have your questions answered. We accompany these meetings with events that encourage team-building, communication and interaction among our people in a relaxed atmosphere outside of the workplace.
